Many people misrepresent dysgraphia as dyslexia. The difference is neurological. Dyslexia is sensory, reading. Dysgraphia is motor, writing. Reading out load is also a motor function, oral fluency. This handout provides a summary of dysgraphia symptoms. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders, fifth edition (DSM-5), dysgraphia is difficulty with spelling and written expression.
